Russia's Sultan Ibragimov managed to out point Evander Holyfield with scores of 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111in their WBO Heavyweight Championship bout. Sultan fought his aging challenger with caution deciding to box and strategically placing counter punches. Holyfield landed a huge right hand that stunned the champion momentarily but it was too little, too late.
Sultan Ibragimov's cautious fighting style worked for him but he was boring to watch. Huge props anyway to him and to Holyfield who turns 45 next week.
