Vic Darchinyan Wins Return Bout... Over a Journeyman

Vic Darchinyan is on his way to redemption as he won his return bout over Federico Catubay of the Philippines at the Auburn RSL Club in New Sout Wales, Australia a couple of hours ago. Darchinyan was last seen in action against another Filipino Nonito Donaire. Donaire beat Darchinyan to the punch by utilizing his great boxing skills and accurate punches. He hit the Armenian born fighter at will and eventually stopped him with a huge counter left hook. Darchinyan fans better hope that he learned his lesson from that fight, and that is taking an opponent seriously. I'd say he got drunk with his punching power and became overly reliable with throwing wide, looping albeit powerful punches coupled with his very annoying arrogance.

His handlers gave him a journeyman from the Philippines to pound on for his return bout. From what I saw, Vic Darchinyan looked pretty average in the whole 12 rounds. He did win by TKO in the last round but improved little compared to his other fights. I don't think he is ready for a rematch with Nonito soon because he will surely be KOd again with that kind of display. When will this guy ever learn? It took him 12 rounds to beat a boxer who has 20 wins and 13 losses in his record and fought the majority of his fights in his native country.

For Darchinyan's sake, someone better teach him how to box if he wants another belt around his waist.
